Sono queste le due azioni principali che Romeo Sozzi e Bottega Ghianda mettono in campo nel rieditare la storica libreria Luigi (o mi amate voi) che Gaetano Pesce aveva progettato e realizzato nel 1982 per un’azienda non più esistente.

L’ibridazione si manifesta nella scelta di applicare alla struttura in legno di faggio tinto nero dei ripiani colorati in resina, materiale centrale nella ricerca del designer spezzino.

L’illuminazione nasce invece dalla scelta di alloggiare nella struttura una luce a LED in modo da creare una sorta di parete luminosa. Gli impasti irregolari delle resine dialogano con il rigore della struttura lignea che le incornicia attraverso una rete di quadrati e rettangoli.

Così la libreria Luigi (o mi amate voi) si colloca nello spazio domestico come un prezioso oggetto polisemico: al tempo stesso libreria e quinta scenografica, ma anche dispositivo luministico e cromatico che porta il design ai confini con l’installazione artistica.

Hybridize and illuminate – These are the two main actions that Romeo Sozzi and Bottega Ghianda implement in re-editing the historic Luigi (or I love you) bookcase that Gaetano Pesce had designed and created in 1982 for a company that no longer exists.

The hybridization manifests itself in the choice to apply colored resin shelves to the black-stained beech wood structure, a central material in the research of the designer from La Spezia.

The lighting instead arises from the choice to house an LED light in the structure in order to create a sort of luminous wall. The irregular mixtures of the resins dialogue with the rigor of the wooden structure that frames them through a network of squares and rectangles.

Thus the Luigi bookcase (or you love me) is placed in the domestic space as a precious polysemous object: at the same time bookcase and scenographic backdrop, but also a luminous and chromatic device that brings design to the boundaries of the artistic installation.
