INTERIOR | KARIM RASHID

L’immaginario di karim Rashid suscita in noi emozioni continue e tanta tanta curiosità. Il suo linguaggio trova soluzioni funzionali e visive sempre nuove pur conservando una forte coerenza. È anche il caso di Sweet Chill, un bar per gelati e dessert progettato per l’MGM City Center di Las Vegas nel 2010 (ma non sappiamo se è ancora esistente).

Il progetto prevedeva uno spazio fluido rosa chiaro con soffitto ondulato per esprimere la consistenza della crema tra liquido e solido, flusso e riflusso, morbido e denso. L’identità dello spazio era accentuata dall’altezza e da un gioco di luci soffuse, che attribuivano al locale un’atmosfera un po’ irreale e fiabesca.

L’uniformità cromatica del contenitore è spezzata dalle sedie multicolor, prodotte da Magis su disegno dello stesso Karim: un pezzo di Made in Italy nel cuore ludico del Nevada.

Inside the candy – Karim Rashid’s imagination arouses in us continuous emotions and a lot of curiosity. His language finds functional and visual solutions that are always new while maintaining a strong coherence. This is also the case of Sweet Chill, an ice cream and dessert bar designed for the MGM City Center in Las Vegas in 2010 (but we don’t know if it still exists).

The project included a light pink fluid space with an undulating ceiling to express the consistency of the cream between liquid and solid, flow and reflux, soft and dense. The identity of the space was accentuated by the height and by a play of soft lights, which gave the place a slightly unreal and fairy-tale atmosphere.

The chromatic uniformity of the container is broken up by the multicolored chairs, produced by Magis and designed by Karim himself: a piece of Made in Italy in the playful heart of Nevada.
