WALL PAINTING | GREG JAGER

Il dipinto murale, creato a Ragusa nell’estate 2020 come parte di Bitume, uno spin off di FestiWall, si inserisce in un’ampia ricerca sull’antropizzazione e sul rapporto tra uomo e ambiente.

Greg Jager, l’autore, reinterpreta il ciclo industriale omaggiando il Futurismo e il Bauhaus. E introduce lo spettatore in un gioco di forme e linee scomposte per consentire al suo stesso occhio di ricostruirne percorsi e sequenze secondo la propria sensibilità.

L’artista romano spiega che «il wall painting che ho realizzato all’interno della fabbrica Ancione rientra in un progetto di ricerca denominato Dismantle: smantellare, de-costruire, scarnificare. Nel mio lavoro questo intreccio di linee e di curve viene scomposto e ricomposto attraverso molteplici geometrie. La selezione della palette nasce dallo studio approfondito dei colori dominanti “in situ”. Una serie di diagonali si ispira ai nastri trasportatori che giganteggiano nell’area».

Painting and anthropology – The mural, created in Ragusa in summer 2020 as part of Bitume, a spin off of FestiWall, fits in a broad research about anthropization and the relationship between man and the environment.

Greg Jager, the author, reinterprets the industrial cycle by paying homage to Futurism and the Bauhaus. And it introduces the viewer into a game of broken shapes and lines to allow his own eye to reconstruct paths and sequences according to his own sensitivity.

The Roman artist explains that «the wall painting I created inside the Ancione factory is part of a research project called Dismantle: dismantle, de-build, flesh out. In my work this intertwining of lines and curves is broken down and reassembled through multiple geometries. The selection of the palette comes from the in-depth study of the dominant colors “in situ”. A series of diagonals is inspired by the conveyor belts that tower over the area».
